Southern Oregon PBS will continue broadcasting today as CEO Phil Meyer said new revenue from individual donors, sponsors, and foundations has offset federal cuts, keeping its 12-person team intact while long-term financial stability remains in question.

The Higher Education Coordinating Commission is asking the state to explore more collaboration among Oregon universities and ways to overcome financial challenges – plans are expected by next January.

Southern Oregon University President Rick Bailey said state investment in higher education is needed for a stronger economic future.
