- ➤ Southern Oregon PBS will continue broadcasting today as CEO Phil Meyer said new revenue from individual donors, sponsors, and foundations has offset federal cuts, keeping its 12-person team intact while long-term financial stability remains in question. KOBI-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Higher Education Coordinating Commission is asking the state to explore more collaboration among Oregon universities and ways to overcome financial challenges – plans are expected by next January. Southern Oregon University President Rick Bailey said state investment in higher education is needed for a stronger economic future. KOBI-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Today and tomorrow, the Jackson County Expo's Seven Feathers Event Center in Central Point hosts the Coastal Farm & Ranch Challenge of Champions Tour bull riding finale with top bull riders and elite bulls. KDRV
- ➤ Rogue River wrestling teams competed at the Hunter Hoeptner Memorial Invitational at Eagle Point on the last Saturday of Christmas break (nine girls competed) and the girls placed third while the boys finished tenth. Rogue River Press
