- ➤ Montgomery’s Meats launched a mobile USDA-inspected slaughter facility in Central Point that restores local meat processing capabilities lost over 20 years (a move that cuts long travel times for ranchers) and gives local producers a direct market while keeping jobs and dollars in the community. - ➤ Red Dog Pet Supply celebrated its 10th anniversary in Rogue River as owner Tim Shreeve marked a decade of business at his front desk and welcomed the new year, highlighting the store’s longstanding role in the community. Rogue River Press
- ➤ Ray’s Food Place, the only major grocery store in Phoenix, will close its doors sometime in late February as announced by its parent company C&K Market, which said the store has served the community for decades. - ➤ Abby's Legendary Pizza will close its White City location at 7480 Crater Lake Highway next week after 27 years in business. Its final day is Tuesday, Jan. 20, and employees have been offered positions at nearby restaurants (with expanded delivery zones for affected customers). KOBI-TV

- ➤ Rogue Valley International — Medford Airport set a record in 2025 by serving over 1.1 million passengers and is planning a terminal expansion with construction starting in 2027. - ➤ Mt. Ashland Ski Area paused operations today due to low snowpack and warm temperatures, and customers with pre-purchased lift tickets, rentals and lessons will be refunded; officials said the resort will reopen once sufficient snowfall returns. MedfordAlert
- ➤ Medford City Council and the United Soccer League are exploring the possibility of bringing a new pro soccer team to southern Oregon. Officials say discussions focus on using Spiegelberg Stadium and consider developing a new facility if the venue cannot be upgraded. KOBI-TV
