- ➤ Mt. Ashland Ski Area closed Thursday after low snowpack and warm temperatures made operations unsustainable. Refunds were issued for lift tickets, rentals, and lessons as staff monitored weather conditions. KOBI-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ An Ashland-based nonprofit, FireFront Foundation, will head to Ukraine in March to modernize wildfire fighting using advanced technology (including unmanned ground robots) to lower fire risks. The group will also supply funding and support to teams facing land management challenges. KOBI-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Competitive cornhole returns to Medford at Rogue X on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31 as part of the American Cornhole Organization’s Medford Major tournament, featuring divisions for singles, doubles, women's, seniors, juniors, and co-ed play.
