- ➤ Jonathan and Jennifer Lawton, known for their Medford outlet, opened a new Grocery Outlet in Ashland yesterday that offers discounted groceries and includes a donation basket for food drives—while also creating about 35 new jobs and donating $1,000 to the Ashland Food Project. KOBI-TV
- ➤ Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its first Southern Oregon location Thursday in South Medford. The restaurant (located across Center Drive from the South Medford Walmart) offers spicy chicken tenders and sliders and is open seven days a week. KOBI-TV

- ➤ Ferguson Elementary earned statewide recognition when more than 64% of its third graders read at or above grade level despite a 75% poverty rate, and Medford’s Hoover Elementary ranked in the top five with 68% proficiency. KOBI-TV
