Good morning, Medford. Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 24th of January.

CULTURE NEWS

  • OSF reported a 42 percent jump in ticket sales for its 2025 season in Ashland, reaching nearly 14.9 million dollars and 98 percent of its revenue goal. The report showed nearly 300 volunteers saved 198,000 dollars in labor costs as the festival builds for a stronger future.  KOBI-TV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • ODF crews contained a 14-acre wildfire that broke out Friday after a noon report southeast of Wolf Creek. Resources will mop-up & investigate the cause over the weekend as officials remind residents that dry vegetation heightens fire risk.  KOBI-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials say road and sidewalk repairs will cause detours. On Crater Lake Avenue, the southbound lane closes from January 27 to 29 and Hillcrest Road sees lane shifts from January 27 to 28 — weather may change work, so travelers on Foothill and Poplar should seek alternate routes.  KDRV
  • Medford City Council voted Wednesday night to revert Main Street to its pre-2023 layout, ending bike lanes in favor of three lanes and curbside parking at a $1 million cost. Business owners say the move may ease parking — they worry about safety and accessibility as construction finishes by fall.  KOBI-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • La Clinica has provided affordable, culturally appropriate care since 1989 by partnering with local school-based centers to keep children in class and parents at work — offering dentistry, behavioral health, expanded pharmacy, and education programs. CEO Brenda Johnson said the clinic adapts to a changing healthcare landscape.  KOBI-TV
  • At Rogue X, the American Red Cross held a blood drive Friday that gave donors a chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, including travel + hotel, a $1000 gift card and a free swim pass. Two more drives are scheduled for April 17 and June 26.  KOBI-TV
