ECONOMY NEWS

  • Medford’s Rogue X generated an estimated $9.79 million in economic impact in 2025, up from $6.7 million in 2024, while hosting 65 major events and drawing over 100,000 aquatic visitors; Lithia & Driveway Fields maintained a steady $13.37 million impact with nearly 240,000 visitors and 1,700 teams playing. EDUCATION NEWS

  • A year after the gym collapse at North Medford High School, district leaders began transforming the facility — using demolition and a design overhaul with improved entrances, ADA access, restrooms, and a digital alumni center. Officials say the new gym will be completed in 2027.  KDRV
  • Rogue River School District has chosen Brad Capener as its new superintendent. Capener (former superintendent of Jefferson School District) spoke at a meet and greet at Rogue River Jr. Sr. High School and now begins his leadership role.  Rogue River Press

  • A cleanup and tree planting event is planned at Wards Creek to restore an area impacted by the Almeda Fire nearly six years ago. Community members are invited to join the effort (a sign of local renewal).  Rogue River Press

  • Farmers across Oregon are debating House Bill 4153-2, a proposal to add acreage and revenue requirements for farm stand permits. Supporters like Bob Crouse — a third-generation farmer — back the changes while critics warn small farms might lose the chance to host agritourism events.  KDRV

HEALTH NEWS

  • La Clinica secured a $217K grant to expand its behavioral health workforce by easing education costs with up to $10,000 in loan repayment + $25,000 in tuition assistance.
