COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Medford approved the Addysen Park Development and Donation Agreement to create an 8.27-acre park in west Medford, featuring a playground, dog park and basketball court set for completion by June 30, 2027 — the city will reimburse developer Terry Buntin and add parking improvements.  KDRV
  • Vendor spots are filling up for ACCESS Senior Fair on March 24 at Rogue X on Rossanley Drive in Medford, where over 80 groups will connect seniors with essential services. Vendors must register by March 1 to secure their place.  KDRV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • PacifiCorp has agreed to pay $575M to settle wildfire damage claims from six fires that burned parts of Oregon and California between 2020 and 2022 — part of the funds will cover firefighting costs and help restore public lands. The company says its lines did not cause the fires.  KOBI-TV
  • The National Weather Service issued a flood watch last night for several counties including Jackson, Josephine, and Curry in southern Oregon and northern California. Heavy rain and melting snow are expected to raise creeks and streams, and officials urge residents to review flood safety information as conditions evolve through Wednesday.  MedfordAlert

  • Medford branch 1433 postal workers gathered at Vogel Park for a National Day of Action to support better pay and improved working conditions. They plan to open negotiations with the USPS — stressing the essential role they play every day.  KOBI-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Team USA won Olympic gold in men's hockey for the first time since 1980, sparking excitement at a local Medford rink. Coach Bobby Ruddle (owner of the Rogue Valley Royals junior team) said the historic win could boost youth interest in hockey across the region.  KOBI-TV
