- ➤ Medford City Council approved plans for an 8.27-acre park last Wednesday between Dakota and Stewart Ave. Donated by developer Terry Buntin and managed by the Medford Parks and Recreation Foundation, the park will include a playground, dog park and more and is set for completion by June 30, 2027. - ➤ Jackson County Animal Shelter has featured Benny, a 10-year-old Chihuahua weighing 8 pounds, as Dog-of-the-Week after he was brought in when his owner was hospitalized; he is housebroken, walks well on a leash, and needs a quiet home and veterinary dental care (call 541-774-6654 for adoptions). ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Emergency responders from Rogue Valley rescued a critically injured woman from steep terrain on BLM land near Highway 238 on Nov. 30, 2025 and she was flown to hospital while the State of Oregon Fire Chiefs Association will honor the team at its annual conference in May (rescuers used a 3:1 rope system). - ➤ Medford-based Sherm’s Markets, owned by the Olsrud family since 1967, plans to sell its four Southern Oregon grocery stores and large Medford warehouse as part of a succession plan following the founders’ recent passing. KOBI-TV
- ➤ Rogue Ales' parent company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy at the end of 2025, and its liquidation auction for brewing and distillery equipment is underway at proxybid.com. This marks the end of an iconic craft beer brand that once was Oregon's second largest brewer. KOBI-TV
