  • Travelers in Medford face delays as Fir Street closes today from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. for material delivery and East McAndrews Road will partially close March 1 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. for utility work (closure times subject to change).  KDRV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • South Medford High School’s Mock Trial team advanced to the state tournament after excelling at the Southern Oregon Mock Trial Regional tournament — this marks only their second appearance in nine years and they will compete on March 14-15.  KDRV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Talent will pay a local developer $7 million after a jury ruled the city blocked plans to build 49 single-family homes along Belmont Road. Talent View Investments said the city's delay — four years and two business days — in applying for a needed railroad crossing upgrade led to the halted project.  KOBI-TV
  • Lawmakers are proposing a bill to regulate flavored nicotine pouches under existing tobacco laws, aiming to close a loophole that lets vendors sell these products without restrictions, and the legislation is under review and could soon provide stronger protection against youth nicotine addiction.  KDRV
