- ➤ Jackson Park in west Medford will undergo a $2.3 million renovation that replaces the old pool with a splash pad + adds sand volleyball courts, a dog park, and a picnic area. The city will fund the project with its park improvement fund and a state grant while starting pool demolition this summer and completing renovations no sooner than 2026. KOBI-TV
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Central Point woman, 44, drowned after heavy rains filled her waders while she worked near a culvert on the 5000 block of Kane Creek Road on Sunday afternoon—officials recovered her body about 100 yards downstream. KOBI-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Medford's Fire and Parks, Recreation and Facilities Departments will host wood debris chipper days next week on March 26 and March 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Donahue-Frohnmayer Park and Fichtner-Mainwaring Park—residents must only bring clean wood debris up to 8 inches in diameter — an effort to build defensible space before fire season. - ➤ Jackson County Emergency Management advised residents to avoid flooded roads and secure outdoor items after heavy rain brought nearly five inches over two days that ended Monday morning—residents should prepare a go bag and an evacuation plan if they live in high-risk areas. KOBI-TV
