- ➤ New flags were installed at Alba Park on Mar. 17 to honor Medford’s long sister-city tie with Alba, Italy — set behind the restored Palm Fountain, the display features four flags and celebrates six decades of cultural and student exchanges. MedfordAlert
- ➤ Mt. Ashland Association launched a capital campaign to replace the Windsor and Ariel chairlifts with new fixed-grip models to improve mountain access following a shortened winter season — Karen and Sid DeBoer pledged to match the first $1m donated, with Windsor expected by 2027 and Ariel by 2028. - ➤ Cora Cacho, a Hillside Elementary student from Eagle Point, holds first place in her group at the Bob Ross Foundation's America's Most Artistic Kid competition+ her teacher uses Bob Ross techniques in class to encourage creative risks. KDRV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lower Table Rock remains closed as the BLM works on accessibility upgrades with crews laying the final asphalt layer to enhance trail safety + Upper Table Rock welcomes visitors in Southern Oregon. KDRV
- ➤ Lower Table Rock is closed until early April while crews pave its one-mile lower loop to make it ADA accessible for those with limited mobility. The Bureau of Land Management said the trail will reopen by April 6, while the upper trail remains open. KOBI-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new program — a joint effort by Rogue Valley Family YMCA and AllCare Health — gives up to 500 Oregon Health Plan members free YMCA memberships along with weight loss, youth health, and pain support programs. It is available today at Medford, Ashland, and Grants Pass locations. KOBI-TV
