ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A semi-truck carrying bee hives flipped on Diamond Lake Highway near mile 9 in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, spilling hundreds of thousands of bees onto the roadway. Beekeepers have spent three days clustering and moving the bees to prevent a fire hazard and save the hives. KDRV

- ➤ Papillon Rouge Boutique celebrates 23 years with the opening of its second store (970 North Phoenix Road, East Medford) after hosting a festive event with champagne, charcuterie bowls and treats over the weekend. The new location will feature a range of men’s clothing among other items. KOBI-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Oregon Department of Forestry and Bureau of Land Management are conducting a controlled burn on 47 acres in the Applegate Watershed today, with crews set to burn another 58 acres on Thursday — the burns are planned on days with good ventilation to keep smoke from settling in the valley. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Jackson County Fire Districts 3 and 5 hold multi-agency training today at Fire District 3 in White City — crews practiced search and rescue tactics during a simulated multi-story fire and will resume training in 2 weeks to boost unit coordination. KOBI-TV
- ➤ Voters in the Rogue Valley Transportation District will soon decide on renewing Measure 15-240, a 13-cent local option tax that funds daily bus operations for residents who depend on public transit. If passed, the measure may restore weekend and later evening routes for many local riders. KDRV
