A heat lamp ignited a dog house on Hartsfield Lane in Merlin on Wednesday, and a family goat lost its home.

The family, their dog, and the goat escaped injury and contained the fire until firefighters arrived (4:26 a.m.) while Rural Metro Fire advises proper heat lamp use.

Medford families can join three local Easter egg hunts today including the Lozier Lane Community event at Lozier Lane Baptist Church (794 Lozier Lane) from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., North Medford High School from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. and The Village at Medford Center from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

The Children's Museum of Southern Oregon will launch its 2026 Summer Clubs from June 16 through Aug.
