Good morning, Medford. Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 8th of April.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Renovation work at Howard School Park is nearly complete and is set to finish by Memorial Day—new amenities include pickleball courts, a splash pad, a dog park, a basketball court and the city’s first interactive playground equipment. CRIME NEWS

  • Emergency responders were dispatched earlier today to a head-on collision at the intersection of Crater Lake Highway and Justice Road when a silver 2007 Land Rover crossed the median and hit a blue 2022 Hyundai sedan, seriously injuring a 25-year-old woman who was taken to a nearby hospital while a 56-year-old man from Albany was detained on suspicion of DUII and reckless driving — the STAR team is collecting evidence with the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.  MedfordAlert

GOVERNMENT NEWS

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Jackson County Vector Control District in Central Point is advising residents on tick safety as warmer weather makes ticks more active.
