  • The Rogue Valley Family YMCA celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Pear Blossom Run on Friday, April 10 in Medford with founders sharing stories & historical photos and awarding prizes to key community contributors. Runners will start a 5k at 7:00 a.m. today to support local YMCA programs and schools.  KOBI-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Southern Oregon Sports Commission has partnered with KOBI-TV NBC5 to offer a $2,500 scholarship for local senior student-athletes who show sportsmanship, a strong work ethic, and leadership. Interested students can apply this spring by visiting TravelMedford.org.  KOBI-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Oregon Health Authority clarified on Friday, Apr. 10 that tattoo artists cannot use numbing agents—nonprescription drugs given during procedures may lead to license sanctions or criminal charges. Some artists worry the rule could affect cosmetic practices such as microblading.  KOBI-TV
