Veteran’s Resource Manager Ben Petetit said homeless veterans have been placed into transitional housing the same day and the group now provides free mailing addresses for about 270 veterans. KOBI-TV

- ➤ Crews from Ashland Fire and Rescue contained a vegetation fire on Foss Road in Talent that began as a burn pile on Friday—winds made the quarter-acre fire in blackberry bushes spread and crews took eight minutes to contain it. KDRV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Auriel Scattergood was found guilty except for insanity on charges that include second degree murder, second degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and first degree animal abuse from a 2021 homicide in Ashland; he will be transferred from Jackson County Jail to Oregon State Hospital where the Oregon Psychiatric Security Review Board will oversee his care.
