EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lake County School District #7 narrowed its superintendent search to two finalists, Brent McConaghy and Dr. Adam Watkins. The candidates will visit the district on April 30 and attend a community forum at 5:30 p.m. at the LHS Cafeteria to meet staff, families, and students. KDRV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ ODFW's 2025 report shows the wolf population increased from 204 to 230 and that three packs moved west, causing livestock depredations to rise to 106 from 69 last year—non-lethal measures and targeted removals were implemented in the east. KOBI-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents can attend two town halls on parks, streets and neighborhood safety—one on April 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at North Medford High School’s cafeteria and another on May 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Police Department’s Prescott Room. KDRV
- ➤ Paving work will begin April 26 on Hwy 99 between Coleman Creek & West Glenwood Drive. ODOT crews will work until April 30 while drivers should plan ahead for lane closures, flaggers and delays. KDRV
- ➤ Residents of Vista Point are worried after the Mountain Top Village public hearing was cancelled when Pacific Rental Properties filed a writ of mandamus on April 14 — shifting review to Jackson County Circuit Court. The project proposes 11 three-story apartment buildings with 199 units and has prompted safety concerns. KOBI-TV
