  • After two months of closure, Rogue Rock Gym will reopen under new ownership. Longtime members Alex Golden and Carsen Dowding secured over $40,000 in community funding and plan to resume operations on Friday, May 1, with original staff continuing to support the gym’s mission.  KOBI-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Medford School District hosted the annual SOXEXO Future Chef Competition on Friday morning at North Medford High School, where elementary students prepared original dishes under adult guidance. A panel of judges awarded medals as they celebrated culinary creativity with family recipes.  KOBI-TV
  • Southern Oregon University’s Arts and Humanities Dean (Andrew Gay) warned that the upcoming academic transformation could be larger than expected after Deloitte Consulting presents recommendations at the board meeting on Tuesday, Apr. 28.   • Two Southern Oregon University School of Education alumni released their second book this month through ConnectEDD Publishing, offering practical strategies for school leaders to manage challenging workplace conversations.
