  • Southern Oregon University hosted a celebration of life for community leader Bill Thorndike on Sunday afternoon at the Music Recital Hall—he passed away unexpectedly in February and was honored by family, local dignitaries, and friends.  KOBI-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Medford’s famous Rogue Comic Con will return at Pear Blossom Park on May 17th and 18th — the event will feature comic artists, many photo opportunities, costume contests and vendors with geeky goods while admission remains free.  KOBI-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Oregon officials say wildfire preparedness must start immediately as rising temperatures and dry conditions increase risks for communities—U.S. Senator Wyden and State Senator Golden call for federal funding to support controlled burns and forest thinning. They urge residents to clear fire hazards on their properties—measures meant to help prevent catastrophic wildfires.  KDRV
