- ➤ A California man, Florin George Ionita, 45, was sentenced on April 17 to 54 months in federal prison for bank fraud that Medford police investigated—federal prosecutors said. Rogue River Press
- ➤ Josephine County deputies responded just after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday when a man aged 31 allegedly fired multiple rounds at two people on Dick George Rd. in Cave Junction, sparked a standoff, and fled on a stolen ATV—he was later arrested and the ATV was returned to its owner. KOBI-TV

- ➤ On Friday, May 2, 2025, Oregon Health Authority issued a recreational use advisory for Emigrant Lake due to a cyanobacteria bloom that may make people and pets ill—locals are told to avoid swimming, water skiing, and power boating in affected areas while fishing, camping, canoeing, and kayaking remain allowed.
