ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Bureau of Land Management Medford District, the Applegate Partnership and Watershed Council will host a free World Migratory Bird Day celebration on May 9 at Provolt Recreation Area — offering guided bird walks at 8, 9 and 10 a.m. and live bird displays from 10 a.m. to noon.  KDRV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Oregon awarded nearly $6M in grants to 180 local fire agencies to hire extra firefighters through October (each agency can receive up to $35,000) to improve wildfire response this season. The funding is aimed at reducing response times and helping smaller, volunteer-dependent departments.  KDRV
