- ➤ The Parks, Recreation and Facilities department is expanding wildfire fuel mitigation in Medford parks and open spaces after the damaging Almeda Fire of 2020. So far, strategic vegetation thinning and removal have treated about 200 acres in Larson Creek and Bear Creek Greenway—this effort is supported by funding from grants, the General Fund, the Park Utility Fund, and marijuana tax revenue.
