- ➤ The Oregon Vortex's House of Mystery is set to reopen in March after last March's flood damaged its gift shop and access bridge. Construction is limited — work will be done from June to Sept while a contractor is still being selected. KOBI-TV
- ➤ Colver Road and North Pacific Highway in Talent are closed as crews remove logs from the intersection — drivers should take alternate routes until the Talent Police Department offers an update. KDRV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Rogue Valley Chorale Association warned that Deloitte Consulting’s assessment on Monday recommended $20 million in cuts at SOU that may end its music program—a move that could impact local arts. A public meeting is scheduled tomorrow at 5 p.m. for the board to vote on the plan. KOBI-TV
- ➤ The Medford Food Project will award North Medford High School $1,000 from the Medford Food Co-Op's Positive Change Grant for student volunteer work; the donation will be presented on May 19 at 9 a.m. on campus. KDRV

- ➤ Jackson County Library District will cut staff by 8.45 full-time positions and reduce branch hours at Medford starting mid-June to keep budgets stable. The 2026-2027 plan also adjusts schedules and boosts digital borrowing (19.3 percent rise). KOBI-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Oregon Health Authority reports that no Andes strain was found among Oregon's 27 hantavirus cases from 1993 to 2023, including one in Jackson County. The disease, spread by rodents, can cause severe respiratory symptoms with a fatality rate of 30 to 40%. KOBI-TV
