ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Medford police are investigating if charges will be filed after a car crashed into a local medical office building on Friday at the intersection of Siskiyou Boulevard and Lazy Creek Road, injuring an office employee who remains in the hospital and a driver with minor injuries as cleanup proceeds.  KOBI-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Medford will rename Field 6 at Lithia + Driveway Fields as Greg Jones Field to honor the former city leader's 41 years of service. The change was approved by the Parks + Recreation Commission on April 22 and by the City Council on May 7, with a new sign expected by July 1.  MedfordAlert
  • ODOT announced that it will build a single-lane roundabout at the dangerous intersection of Highway 62 and Highway 234 in Jackson County to reduce crashes; the project is estimated to cost about $8.2M and will begin construction in late 2027. The intersection ranks among the top 10 crash sites statewide with many drivers speeding in the area—ODOT expects the roundabout to improve safety.  KOBI-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • The FDA approved a new at-home cervical cancer screening device by Teal Health that tests for HPV using a simple swab and matches a doctor's sample accuracy. La Clinica in the Rogue Valley will offer self-collection at primary care sites this August — helping patients who face barriers to traditional Pap tests.  KOBI-TV
