  • Medford now has a new Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall with all 58,479 names from Washington—built over 12 years—and it will be unveiled on Memorial Day to honor fallen heroes. Veteran Ron Kohl led the project so locals can remember the sacrifice of service members.  KDRV
  • Dutch Bros returns its Drink One for Dane fundraiser today by donating one dollar per drink to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of co-founder Dane Boersma. The annual event revives a tradition that has raised millions for MDA programs.  KOBI-TV
  • Local residents gathered on Wednesday at a Save Hawthorne Park Picnic (their signature drive) to oppose plans for a minor league baseball stadium at Hawthorne Park. They collected 350 signatures and want to keep the park as green space while the city studies alternative sites.  KOBI-TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Medford fire crews contained a grass fire on Mason Way in North Medford — the blaze was completely put out with no smoke seen.  KDRV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Yesterday, a new Goodwill store opened in North Medford with a grand opening ribbon cutting and a performance by the local high school jazz band. The almost 10,000 sqft facility created 35 new jobs — expanding access to job connection and training services.  KOBI-TV

  • Rick Atkinson, a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, discussed his latest book on the American Revolution at the Rogue Valley Country Club on Thursday during the Mark O. Hatfield Lecture Series — highlighting America’s past ahead of the 250th anniversary. His talk offered fresh insights on the nation’s founding.  KOBI-TV

  • Oregon Housing and Community Services has committed nearly $1M in microgrants and loans to dozens of small businesses in Jackson County after the 2020 Almeda Fire.
