ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local conservation groups are urging Gov. Tina Kotek to review a proposed gravel mining project in Sunny Valley because it may harm fish habitat, reduce stream flows and risk local drinking water + river health. - ➤ At a Wednesday night meeting, the Talent Budget Committee decided to keep funding the School Resource Officer program after staff considered cutting the role to save $275,000 annually; the decision will go to city council for final approval (Phoenix-Talent Schools said the role is essential for student safety).
