- ➤ Carol Meyst says a neighbor's backyard at 3065 Kingsgate Circle has overgrown weeds that pose a fire hazard and she contacted code enforcement to protect her home, dog, and neighbors. The property manager must trim the backyard by Monday (or the city will hire a contractor and cite the owner). KOBI-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ After people noticed non-consensual sexual activity and indecent exposure near the Medford library at the corner of Central Avenue and 9th Street on Friday, police arrested 36-year-old Malachi Pollard at about 9:50 a.m.—he now faces charges of attempted rape, attempted sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse—and he has a long criminal record. - ➤ Former nurse Dani Marie Schofield, facing 44 counts of second-degree assault for allegedly diverting fentanyl from July 2022 to July 2023, appeared today at Jackson County Circuit Courthouse for a pretrial conference where her defense asked for a postponement into mid-August or early September to secure expert resources—District Attorney Patrick Green did not oppose the delay but demanded more frequent court check-ins. - ➤ Medford Airport is holding an FAA-mandated emergency response drill that started May 27 and continues today—local fire crews, paramedics and mutual aid partners are simulating aircraft emergencies with live fire and volunteer injuries.
