COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Downtown Medford will be car free this Saturday as the city hosts Medford Open Streets from 11am to 4pm — residents can walk, bike and enjoy live music along a three-block route on West 6th and Main between Ivy and Fir.  KOBI-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Craterian Theater announced a 2025-26 season with at least 26 shows featuring international acts like The Peking Acrobats and New York’s STOMP as well as performances by Kate Flannery with Jane Lynch, Everclear, Ten Tenors, Sesame Street Live and Teen Musical Theater of Oregon productions. Tickets go on sale June 24—offering Medford audiences a season of diverse theater experiences.  KOBI-TV
  • RCC music students will perform two free concerts in downtown Medford in June— the first on June 9 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church at 601 W Main St and the second on June 10 at 7 p.m. in Room 132 at the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center at 101 S Bartlett St— featuring choral, classical, and jazz music with donations accepted to support the music department.  MedfordAlert

EDUCATION NEWS

  • South Medford High School held its graduation for the Class of 2025 on Wednesday night when 444 seniors tossed their caps in the air; the ceremony featured speeches from 31 valedictorians and principal Jonathan Lyons urging graduates to keep learning.  KOBI-TV
  • The AI for Good Conference gathers experts & community leaders at One West Main in Medford to discuss the ethical use and positive impact of artificial intelligence on areas like law enforcement, agriculture and automotive. Today, attendees experience hands-on demos and interactive sessions as community events feature live music and food trucks.  KOBI-TV
  • North Medford High School held its graduation ceremony Thursday at Spiegelberg Stadium where 385 students, including 16 valedictorians, received their diplomas as family and friends cheered. Principal Allen Barber introduced the top graduates who thanked their local families and those in Nepal—while other school districts, such as Grants Pass, hold their ceremonies today at Mel Ingram Field.  KOBI-TV

  • The Medford Rogues will start their season tonight at 6:35 p.m. at Harry & David Field when they face the Seattle Studs in a non-league game; new head coach Kevin Olmsted said his team is set to bring energy and focus to the field—adding a fireworks show to launch their summer schedule.  KOBI-TV
  • Rogue River Jr. Sr. High's Reagan Alden vaulted to a District Title at the District 2 meet in Brookings after a strong freshman season where she placed fourth in the 200 — and finished fifth in the pole vault at District 5 last year.  Rogue River Press
