  • Wicked Saints Studio launched their interactive game World Reborn today to help young people build confidence by turning in-game missions into real-life actions—trainers guide players through steps like leaving notes of encouragement. The game will remain available on the App Store until the end of June with an improved grand launch planned for 2026.  KOBI-TV
  • The American Red Cross opened an emergency shelter at Jacksonville Elementary School Wednesday afternoon to support those affected by the Upper Applegate fire near Ruch. The shelter is staffed 24/7 and offers food, water, showers, and a place to sleep — it will remain open as long as the community needs disaster relief.  KOBI-TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Wednesday evening, a house fire on the 100 block of Ponderosa Way in Eagle Point was swiftly brought under control by Jackson County Fire District 3 crews. Firefighters used a 2 1/4-inch hose line to attack the flames and received backup from other local agencies—no injuries were reported.  MedfordAlert

CULTURE NEWS

  • BASE Southern Oregon will host its 5th annual Juneteenth celebration this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in downtown Medford’s Pear Blossom Park — the event features live music, cultural performances, inspiring speakers, food, and drinks and will run until about 8:00 p.m.  KOBI-TV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Bureau of Land Management will host a walk-up wild horse adoption event at the Oregon Wild Horse Corral Facility from June 25—27 to give a wild horse a new home. The event offers an opportunity for those looking to adopt to meet these unique animals.  Rogue River Press
  • Significant progress has been made on the Upper Applegate fire that started Wednesday afternoon as crews lined 70 percent of its 470 acre area and cleared hazardous trees on the northern side—ODF will continue staffing the fire around the clock until containment lines are complete while the cause is still under investigation.  KOBI-TV
  • Firefighters reached 70% containment on the Upper Applegate Fire that started Tuesday in the 2000-block of Upper Applegate Road and now spans 470 acres while establishing water hose lines along half its perimeter.
