HEALTH NEWS

  • State health officials issued a recreational advisory for Lost Creek Lake in Jackson County on Tuesday after dangerous levels of cylindrospermopsin—a toxin produced by harmful algae—were detected. They warned people not to swim or use power boats in areas with visible algae blooms and to avoid drinking untreated water to protect children and pets.  MedfordAlert
  • Oregon Health Authority issued a recreational advisory for Lost Creek Lake because harmful cyanobacteria blooms have made the water unsafe for swimming, high-speed water activities, drinking directly from the lake, or eating fish caught there.
