ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Carol Mercer, a 79-year-old ranch owner near Highway 140 in Eagle Point, spent about $3,500 building fire breaks on her 140-acre property to help firefighters fight wildfires—she paid out of pocket and hired local help using a Bobcat Tractor to clear roads and cut paths across her land.  KDRV
  • Southern Oregon residents are preparing for wildfire season by using an eco-friendly fire retardant to protect their homes.
