  • Pressure Point Roofing and Habitat for Humanity replaced Navy veteran Glen Erickson’s old roof—needed to keep his home insured—with a free new installation; the project began last Saturday and finished Thursday and now carries a lifetime warranty.  KOBI-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • A historic downtown Medford building once home to JCPenney will become a public event center by mid-2026 — funded by a $50,000 grant from the City Council Community Initiative Fund. The Southern Oregon Historical Society is working with architects and contractors on plans to add a hall, meeting rooms and a catering kitchen — a project that will offer new community features downtown.  MedfordAlert

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Southern Oregon University announced a plan to reshape itself into a smaller school — a move to cut costs and reduce academic programs over three and a half years due to a $5 million shortfall. President Rick Bailey said up to 64 full time jobs may be impacted and a final plan will be made after talks with the faculty union in 20 business days.  KOBI-TV
