ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Medford Fire Department responded to an explosion and fire at the Roseburg Forest Products facility on North Pacific Highway near Rogue Valley Mall late Friday night—firefighters worked with plant staff and called a second alarm as the investigation later found the incident was accidental with no injuries reported. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Rogue Community College is offering the DH100 Pre-Dental Hygiene online course this fall to teach basic dental hygiene concepts and boost application scores—students earn extra points based on their grades. Applications for its Dental Assisting certificate program are open through Aug. 15 and a required online information session will be held today at noon—more details are available from RCC. - ➤ Southern Oregon University is cutting 15 majors—such as outdoor leadership, chemistry, and media innovation—and 11 minors as part of a plan to reduce its operating budget by 15% over the next three years to ease a $5 million shortfall and save over $10 million.
