Good morning, Medford. Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 9th of August.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Renovations on Fire Station 15 progress in Medford as Outlier Construction builds a temporary apparatus bay and housing unit that will be finished later this month — allowing fire crews to work while the old station is demolished. Once the new station is built, the temporary structure will be repurposed as the logistics center for fire operations.  KOBI-TV
  • Governor Tina Kotek announced a funding fix to help Oregon Department of Transportation after a budget gap threatened closing 12 maintenance facilities. She proposed that half of the revenue from the gas tax, DMV registration fees, and title fees go to the agency—postponing the first wave of layoffs until September 15 and warning that more cuts may come in January if funds are not secured.  KOBI-TV
