- ➤ A section of East McAndrews Road was shut down Wednesday afternoon after a reported gas leak on Bonita Avenue, and emergency teams from Medford Police, Fire, and Avista Utilities responded at 3:02 p.m.—officials say the road remains closed pending further notice with no injuries or property damage reported. - ➤ Medford police arrested 31-year-old Joel Matthew Caswell on Wednesday for drive-by shootings on July 26 and 27 in northeast Medford near Carnelian Street—video evidence tied him to a blue Dodge pickup and he now faces charges for using a weapon, endangering others and mischief while on federal pre-trial release from earlier fraud charges. - ➤ Emergency water restrictions remain in place in Medford and other Rogue Valley communities until further notice due to an equipment failure at the main water treatment plant—only essential indoor uses were allowed while outdoor water use is banned.
