- ➤ The Jacksaphine County Fair kicked off Friday at LongSword Vineyard with paragliders, costumes, games and raffles and continues today with Pastries & Paddling at Applegate Lake and a Harvest Festival at the Upper Applegate Grange — a week-long celebration of the Applegate Valley's beauty, flavors and diversity. - ➤ Today, Medford will host the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Lithia and Driveway Fields with check-in at 10 a.m. and an opening ceremony at 11 a.m.—around 400 people are expected to join the nearly 2-mile walk to raise funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. KOBI-TV
- ➤ On September 19, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Jackson County held its 19th annual Cherish a Child luncheon at Rogue Valley Country Club to unite local supporters and advocates in a coordinated effort to prevent child abuse—an event that highlighted the nonprofit’s vital mission. KOBI-TV
- ➤ Medford was named a Top Small Town in the 2025 Sunset Travel Awards by Sunset Magazine, sharing the honor with Carmel-by-the-Sea and Great Falls. Local officials and business partners now plan to use the recognition to boost tourism and highlight the city's natural scenery and cultural attractions — a win they say will attract more visitors — as Medford continues to grow. - ➤ The Medford Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department secured a $780,593 grant to renovate Jackson Park in west Medford—using the funds to update the pool building, restrooms, and picnic areas while installing a new splash pad. - ➤ Medford City Council approved $615,563 from HUD in Community Development Block Grant funds for eight local organizations to support park upgrades, transitional housing, rental unit rehabilitation, and vital services for low to moderate income residents—this competitive process awarded $239,212 for Jackson Park renovations and $150,000 for transitional housing on Almond Street.
