- ➤ The 45th annual Bird Mart took place Sunday at the Jackson County Expo where local animal lovers met to buy birds and learn about their care — members of the Northwest Bird Club said the market helps connect owners, and the club will meet at the Roxy Ann Grange from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. each first Sunday of the month. - ➤ WGU and RCC have partnered to offer transfer pathways for RCC graduates and employees to earn online bachelor’s and master’s degrees. A signing ceremony is scheduled for today at 10:50 a.m. at the RCC Redwood Campus Student Center in Grants Pass — local officials expect this collaboration to boost workforce development in Jackson and Josephine counties. - ➤ Downstream recreation on the Rogue River has reopened after a brief closure caused by the Moon fire that has spread to 19,349 acres at 10% containment—permits for the Wild Section are now available while boaters must remain alert to hazards from falling trees and restricted shore access.
