Volunteer Brian Mullen from Medford flew to Alaska on Friday after a deadly storm to help set up shelters, arrange supplies, and provide emotional support to victims.

He has been with the Red Cross for one year and has been deployed five times — he will assist victims for three weeks.

Downtown Medford is hosting Forks & Friends: Downtown Medford Restaurant Week today through October 23 — 40 restaurants offer harvest specials, curated wine pairings, and local farm ingredients to support small businesses.
