COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Mt. Ashland Ski Area hosted a soft launch party at Growler Guys with live music from the Bill Scholer Trio and roasted marshmallows as a few hundred locals gathered to boost excitement for the upcoming ski season starting Dec. 13. General Manager Andrew Gast said the $724 season passes and event funds will help replace a chairlift before the park closes April 13.  KOBI-TV
  • Medford church held its first annual turkey dinner on Saturday at The Way Medford Family Church—volunteers served free meals with turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie while group prayers were offered. Church leaders said about 150 people attended the event as it capped off their Adopt-a-Block outreach program that supports community members with services like the Men’s Transformational Home.  KOBI-TV

  • The Jackson County Expo reopened its equine facilities Monday after a weekend closure prompted by a Temporary Administrative Order from the Oregon Department of Agriculture—new rules now require riders to sign in and groups to submit horse lists to help prevent Equine Herpesvirus spread.  KOBI-TV
