  • Volunteers gather today at Eagle Point National Cemetery for the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony — marking its 10th year at the site with wreath placement at 9 a.m. and a remembrance ceremony at noon that honors fallen service members and first responders.  KOBI-TV
  • Residents filled the conference room at the Rogue River branch of the Jackson County Library on Thursday to discuss concerns over the Queen's Gold Forest Management Project — county officials said resident feedback will help guide future plans.  Rogue River Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Southern Oregon celebrates the holiday season with public menorah lightings set for Sunday at 3:45 p.m. in Ashland, Monday at 4 p.m. in Grants Pass, and Tuesday near Tinseltown in Medford plus free Santa meet-and-greets in Ashland and a Christmas Parade in Grants Pass today at 6 p.m.  KOBI-TV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • BLM reopened Lower Table Rock Trail and Oak Savannah ADA Loop Trail Friday after finishing the first phase of improvements for wheelchair accessibility near town — grading, draining, and a gravel base layer were completed. The trails will close again in late spring to install the final asphalt surface.  KDRV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Around 37,000 Oregonians must complete 80 hours of work, training, or volunteer service per month to retain their SNAP benefits, officials said. The new work rules (effective Dec. 1) remove some prior exemptions but still allow Tribal members to remain eligible, with benefits at risk by April.  KOBI-TV
