- ➤ Ron Havniear resigned as Medford School District’s Director of Security after 11 years and will end his service on August 29—his departure follows months of public conflict with a board member—and school officials are working to fill the role. KOBI-TV

- ➤ Visitors to Bear Creek Park face detours as construction crews replace the Lazy Creek crossing—closed between the Bear Creek Dog Park and the BMX track—to help native fish swim freely. - ➤ Central Point approved a new ordinance that limits consumer fireworks to July 3rd and 4th (8 p.m. to midnight) and bans them in high-risk areas such as Bear Creek Greenway, parks, schools, city hall, and the police department; violators face fines up to $500. City officials said the move will help reduce fire risks as the next July 4th holiday approaches. KOBI-TV
- ➤ Senator Ron Wyden visited Medford today to discuss a transformative expansion plan for Rogue Valley International Airport—an effort that will use nearly $7 million in federal grants to boost connectivity and economic strength. The first phase will expand the post-security hold room and improve the boarding process to support future growth. KDRV
- ➤ On Monday, Rogue Valley International Medford Airport celebrated completing airfield upgrades with new taxiways and apron expansion funded by almost $7 million in federal grant money from Senators Wyden and Merkley — officials noted record summer traffic. Officials said the airport will begin phase one of a $115 million expansion in early 2027 — improvements will enhance the post-security waiting area. KOBI-TV
