COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The 54th Annual Harvest Festival will be held tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Talent — 173 vendors will show their goods across the park and down five downtown blocks.  KDRV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ODOT said a half mile of Oregon 234 between Modoc and Dodge roads near Eagle Point will close for about a month beginning Thursday at 8 a.m.—crews will repair sinking pavement by excavating up to 30 feet beneath the roadway while drivers follow detour routes to avoid delays.  MedfordAlert
  • Medford residents voiced hope and caution over the Creekside Quarter Project during Wednesday night’s city council meeting as they questioned its purpose and future funding. The council approved a 6—4 motion to use a transient lodging tax on visitors for the project, with the tax planned for the November ballot.  KDRV

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Sunday, Oct. 5, Hive Midwifery & Family Health and the Hive Birth Center will open in Ashland—offering a home-like setting for low-risk births and full family primary care while visitors can tour two private birth suites and join a raffle for new or gently used baby items.  KOBI-TV
